10/03

At last the boat is in the water! It's the end of the boating season but at least we got it in for a test run. It runs great, and is fast!!! Here's a few photos, we'll add some more next spring.

5/03 Steering controls, logo have been added. Will touch up motor soon and hope to have photos of boat in the water next. Vinyl letteringLogo came out excellent, see Fastline graphix link on Links page.

12ft Crestliner Runabout, Commander 12, model 520, restored by Dennis Matson

I got interested in small 12 ft runabouts in 1995 when I saw the Model 550 for $200 and I didn't buy it  (It was for sale for months and included a trailer!)  When I finally decided I wanted it , it was sold.   The next 12 ft model that I saw for sale I bought in 1996.  It is the model 520 shown here.  I paid $300 for this one.  In the last 4 years, I have only seen 3 more 12' Crestliner runabouts for sale in this area and the prices are rising.  I think they are a neat little boat  that will be a lot of fun and attract a lot of interest.

My original intent was not to get my boat back to original specifications, but to have it  look nice & in good condition.    I repainted the boat and am working on installing the steering cables and motor controls.  Visit this page again, more photos will be added as the boat progresses.  Email  me  IF you have any questions about my boat.  ----Dennis Matson

10/01  I recently purchased another boat, a 1952? Larson Watercraft 14' fishing boat.  Since Larson  Watercraft was a predecessor to Crestliner, I've included this boat in Viewer Photos, along with some links to the company history.
