Hello all, Wonderful site here. Recently my father gave me a boat he got from a friend. Looking through the online catalogs I was able to determine it was a 62 Del Rio "16" Imerpeial Model 952 and not a 1961 as titled. The boat is in very good general condition (original Johnson 75, same as in the picture on page 8 of 1962 catalog, runs GREAT!)but the windshield is cracked in half in the middle from top top bottom. Some ice fell from his friends house and bent the visor and top frame and broke the windshield. The hardware can be easily straightened. I am looking to purchase a used windshield that would fit it. $500 for a new one seems a bit much to me. Then again, what do I know? I'm a neophyte to the world fo restoring Crestliners. I live in Bismarck, ND and would appreciate any information or any places anyone knows of that might have such a thing (boat salvage yards etc). Email me at [email protected] if you have any information please. Also, before I start buffing the fibreglass and muck something up, are there any precautions or preferred techniques I should employ? The gelcoat is heavily chalked and some checking on the top half. It spent the last 2 years in a marina in Michigan. Thanks
