Tim, as for buffing the fiberglass, I have used a kit called Vertglass successfully on my 1963 Del Rio. There is an oxidation remover and scrubber, as well as a shammy brush and brush on restorer included in the kit. Highly recommended. I worked at a marina for a couple of years restoring fiberglass boats and this product was used daily. It is available through West Marine and the cost is around 100.00 US... Hope this helps.
