I'm pretty sure my 14 footer is maxed out with horsepower. I'm running a 1976 50hp Mercury. I know, I know...some would argue that's its just too much power, but I've had no problems. The motor mount was completely rebuilt and has the side metal brackets that were introduced in 1959. I don't have a gps, so I can only go with the speedo in the dash. I need to run it a couple more times before I settle on a top speed with the prop I have on it now. It's pushing 40-42 miles an hour or so. I've yet to send in my photos even though I finished my restoration early this year. I have tons of photos taken during the resto process, but I still need to take the nice end result photos that I want others to see. I'll pull it out soon and do that.
