Russ, Look forward to seeing your pictures. Seems every boat is a little different and always has something to teach us. On the 40+ speeds....it would be great if you could use a GPS to verify. I say this because while some speedos are accurate, most are not. I bought a 22' Starcraft last year. The previous owner claimed it would do 52 mph. I knew better. The speedo did say 52. The GPS (I used several) all said 39 mph. So, I tend to be skeptical of water-pressure speedometers. Perhaps you could run alongside a friend's GPS-equipped boat to get some readings.
