Almost all of the wood used on crestliners was pine stained to look like redwood. They say redwood in the literature, but I know I redid the wood seats in a 12 footer I had years ago and I got 3/8 pine boards and stained them to look just like the new 1960 14 foot comodore my Dad had just got brand new and they looked identical. I finished them with marine spar varnish. dave.
