“I don’t cook”

DENNIS’ MANESTRA
 1 chicken breast
1 onion,
chopped
3 green
onions, chopped
2
carrots, sliced
2 celery
stalks, sliced
½
green pepper, chopped
½
cup mushrooms, sliced
1-
14 oz. can stewed tomatoes, chopped
1 cup
Manestra (also called orzo, an oval shaped macaroni product)
lemon
1 Tablespoon
olive oil (optional)
Choose all or several, to your liking:
Allspice
salt
pepper
bay
leave
basil,
oregano, dill
Cut
chicken into small pieces, cook with a small amount of water.
Add vegetables, seasonings & oil
(optional)to cooked chicken along with 1 - 2 cups water. Simmer
in pan, covered, stirring often till
manestra is tender. While cooking, add water as needed.
Warning: manestra has the potential to expand
to many times its original size. Serve with lemon.
