I've decided to sell my 1959 15' Jetstreak. The boat is registered in NY as a 1960 but is probably a '59 as it was the last year they were made. The boat is in good restorable condition. Needs correct seats and windsheild base, otherwise is complete. It appears to be pretty solid, no holes or loose rivets. There is a minor dent near the bow that I think would push out easily. The 15 footer is quite rare and provides a bit more depth in the cockpit than the 14 which should make it a better fit for most adults.
It comes with a 1958 30 HP Johnson w/electric start and controls (Model #RDE-18C). I haven't run the motor but it turns over and seems to have very good compression.
The trailer is an older teenee type although the exact brand is unknown and is registerd as "homebuilt".
The boat is located near Albany, NY. I can email pictures. Price is $1500. Please contact me for additional information.

Just a minor thing - your 30 HP Johnson is a 1956 model, not a 1958, as 1956 was the only year they made a 30 back then. A good motor - I have one in my collection. The 30 HP was the last year of the 6 Volt systems but they also crank and start very well on 12 volts.
For 1957-1959 Johnson's RDs were 35 HP, and 40 after that - all the same block, just bored out a bit more for each HP increase.
Good luck selling your boat!

Yes, upon further research the motor is in fact a 1956. Thank you for the correction.
Also, for anyone who may be interested in purchasing, please feel free to contact me. I am open to offers and your thoughts on what you think it is worth and mostly I'd like to see this boat go to someone who would really appreciate it for what it is. |
