| I was hoping there might be some type of paint on sealer, like you use on motorhomes to seal leaks, maybe coat the inside and outside of the rivits or seams? |

3M 5200 Marine Adhesive Sealant has long been the market leader. I have had no failures with it. Ever.
But, it is not a paint-on product, but rather a typical tube or caulking-gun application. _________________ 1958/9 14' Crestliner Jetstreak |

I used a product called gluvit on the entire interior of my boat. It brushes on and creeps into all the little places(like loose rivets) and is supposed to flex with the boat. It is $100 a gallon but when I hit the lake I have no worries about leakage. _________________ 1960 flying crest

| if you just have some rivets leaking and don't want to spend lots of money cabelas has a item called boat patch its a resin stick you apply with a propane torch melts at a low temperature no burn thru works great and simple to use cost is $7.99 for two sticks enough for hundreds of rivets. |

I have also used the Cabelas product and would recommend it. I would sandblast the outside of the hull around the rivet, and then apply the epoxy stick with a propane torch. Easy to work with. However, some of my patches have failed and had to be re-done. That little Jetstreak can pound the surface pretty hard at speed, so you may have to expect some re-working. _________________ 1958/9 14' Crestliner Jetstreak |

| if you are doing just a few rivets you could use a stainless steel brush, to clean them up, but if your planning on doing the entire boat bottom and you have the resources and experience i suppose you could sandblast however i would be very careful sand blasting aluminum. another thing you could do is use truck bed coating on bottom comes in a aresol can inexpensive, is suppose to work as a sealer and resist abrasions better, good luck |
