| $375 for plastic blasting. The boat looks great. All of the paint is off, and there are no scratches/pitting at all. Looks like it is ready to paint, but I'm going to see if I can polish up parts of it rather than paint it all. |

I just found a 1959 Mercury Mark 35a for my 15' Jetstreak. Anyone know the value of this motor (doesn't run but is in good condition and has compression).
FYI - I will be selling my '64 Johnson Super Seahorse 40HP. If someone is interested, make an offer. |

"Just giving this thread a bump to re-ask my question:
Does anyone have a Jestreak 15 that is actually 15ft when measured direct line from the very front to the very back? (Mine only measures 14ft)"
I have a similar boat (14' long, with beam and transom dimensions shown in the catalog for a 15 footer). Unfortunately, I still find no hull number. I would really like to know what I have. |

Off-topic. While riding bicycle on some back roads, I happened to find yet another 15ft Jetstreak laying in the woods next to an old unused cabin. The boat is in sorry shape, with so much mulch/dirt laying in the bottom that there are now a couple small trees growing inside. I spoke with the neighbor, and found out that the owner is well into his 90's, living in an old folks home with limited mental capacity. His niece (who had nothing to do with the man and is not very friendly) somehow has power of attorney, and never goes to the place. The neighbor says that the old man was a great guy. A multiple-war veteran with lots of scary stories. Anyway, I'm trying to track down the niece, but not having much luck. Sad situation, but I'm hoping to rescue the boat. |
Wow, interesting story, I sure hope you can acquire that boat, and give it a proper second life. _________________ Chris

I've been trying pretty hard to find someone that can sell me the boat. No luck so far. I slipped notes into the cabin door. After a couple months, they were removed, but nobody contacted me. I even found a (distant) relative, but he wasn't much help. I'll keep trying, but I think that the woman isn't going to have anything to do with the cabin or boat until the man dies. What a shame.
Meanwhile, I'm slowly working the Jestreak I bought. The aluminum/epoxy filler sticks are a wonderful invention for filling holes and dents. I haven't painted yet, but I don't think you'll be able to see the repairs. |

| I just towed a 58 Flying Crest from Niles, Michigan back to Tampa, Florida, with the original trailer. Maybe I am crazy! |
