I purchased a 15’ Jetstreak a few months ago and have started the restoration project. So far I have stripped off the hardware and sandblasted the hull. My plans over the winter is to build the interior and get everything ready before painting in the spring. I have already ran into a few question on the best way to complete a few of the tasks: The base for the windshield is missing, does anyone know how to build one or what might look good on this boat as a replacement? Does anyone know where to get the front seat braces made? The current bid I have is $225 for all four, is this high? I am also missing the bow light, any suggestion on where to find one or what a good substitute would be? Thanks for any help on these questions.

If you really want to find an original Jetstreak bow light, we have one new-in-box. While not for sale and intended for possible future restoration, I could supply the description and some photos for you, if you want.
As I recall, we bought this one on eBay several years ago for about $100.
It was intended for use as both a light and a cleat, but was ill-designed and the bug-eyed lenses could be easily broken. _________________ 1958/9 14' Crestliner Jetstreak |

The search routine is very useful especially for specific items such as the windshield.
Just click on search at top of this page and start a search for the item .
Most parts have a lot of specific info that will not come back in this thread,
but can be greatly assisted by a forum search. |

Hey Steve,
The price quoted seems a little high - but not knowing what they are qouting you for it makes it hard. I found this place on the internet for stainless pipe in Minneapolis: http://www.discountsteel.com/ For a 6 foot length of 1/2" (either pipe or tube) they are only talking about $35, so for about $70 you have enough material to make the brackets. The key would be finding someone under "tube bending" that could bend it for a reasonable price.
You can try contacting Mark Thompson in Roseville MN about the windshield bracket. He has a very nice restored 15 footer. |

| Day_Cruiser your a lucky person for having a spare! I posted a picture of the light that is on a Jetstreak at a boat dealer in MN that should be the original. Is this a Crestliner branded light with a part number or is it from another manufacture? Thanks everyone else for the responses, you are giving me good ideas and leads on where to look! I have search over this forum and you are correct, it has a lot of good information. Thanks |

This is the correct bow light on this boat in the photo. The one on the unpainted alumumn deck. Dave Roxin |

The original bow light, identified in the photo above, is an Attwood model 8000-A. _________________ 1958/9 14' Crestliner Jetstreak |

Soooo very close in my quest to find that bow light…. I found this picture on the internet that was posted by a supplier that had old bow lights for sale. Note the one on the left on the third shelf up. When I called they said it went on e-bay 6 months ago. Another lucky person with a new-old light! They were nice people that have many old lights that someone else maybe looking for. The company was A&A Marine in MI (URL under picture).

| I purchase that light and had it chrome plated. I looks real good, but I am missing the lens. I have not been able to locate the exact replacement, does anyone know what would make a good option to the original? |

Steve, did you find the windshield bracket yet? Have you contacted
Mark Thompson in Minn? I saw his restored 15 footer at Tomohawk a few years ago and it was stunningly great. The attention to detail was incredible. I know it's old posting, but wanted to see where you were at with the project......... |

I think I have the correct lenses (in fact the whole light)
Comparing it to the photo in your post 12/30/2008 - third shelf up...
I took it and the three deck cleats off a 1950's Brunswick I bought in a yard sale a couple of years ago.
The light is 7" long at the base and almost 4" wide at the widest part.
The lens openings are 2.5" high by 2.25" wide.
The lenses are installed behind a front chrome piece held down by two screws. Red/Green lenses.
Chrome is in great condition, the flagpole hole in top is 1 1/8" diameter.
The plug is, of course, missing.
Seems like a VERY big light!.
You want it - it is yours...
PS I cut all peices out with a 4.5" grinder so as not to damage them - the fibreglass is still attached. Threw the boat away but a dumpster picked it. |
