The rear seat in my Commander has a slat type seat back that was common in the 50s but I have not seen any pictures of a Crestliner with that type back. Most are shown with no seat backs.

OK here is where my boat gets strange
You can clearly see in this pic, that mine had a backrest for the rear seat, no evidence of one for the front seat

| DeathWish wrote: | | From what I have seen and read 1955 was the last year Oak gunnels were offered. 1956 was the first year for the center arched ribs and bow handles. However bow handles, decks, steering wheels and hardware as well as running lights, windshields and other items were offered as accessories during some of the years. So it is possible to have a boat that has been retrofitted with OEM hardware that was originally not available. Do any of your seats have backs on them? |

OOPS I POSTED UNDER THE WRONG TOPIC
Is that a Buccaneer 620 you have there 54fleetwin?
The catalog shows a back rest on the rear seat but not where your picture is showing. Aren't those brackets for the seats on the sides in the back corners? Mine has two ell brackets about 1.25" wide on either side that catch an aluminum finger, which sticks out on both sides of the seat back.
Just put up a picture of the bracket. http://www.deathwish-outboards.com/
The thing that makes me question my own seat back is the fact that it sticks up so high like it was meant to go with a bigger boat.
I've got to get to work on the folks at the Minnesota Historical society and see what they have. _________________ Picking up where I left off at sixteen.

those horizontal brackets are for the tiller seat, the darker blue(less faded) paint in the upper left corner of the pic is where the seat back was mounted
Its a model 810 |

| I'm a new owner of a 58 Flying Crest. I was told the plug was with the boat when I bought it. Where is the plug located? |

It should be on the bottom just to the side of one of the transom braces. Usually the starboard side. _________________ Picking up where I left off at sixteen.
