It doesn't look like a Crestliner but you probably know that already- I can tell by the rivet pattern on the front.
Still a cool looking boat & worth the time to restore.

Yeah I knew it wasn't a crestliner, but what can you do. I only paid $100 for it.
I was going to use it for parts, however I can't bring myself to do that.
I need make and year for DMV |

My guess for the year would be 1960 or newer. Judging by the transom, it sort of flares out at the rear view, and does NOT have a "barrel-back" style like most from the 50's. Also, the gunwales are Very straight, another trait from about '60 and up. |
Great state of Kommiefornia, very good observations.
I thought everything went to forward swept bows in the '60's
With the O/B being a '58, I have set my searches from '58 to '65. |

Reason I asked about your State, I was sort of thinking Lone Star boat, and if you where anywhere near the S.W., well, that would make sense. But I looked at a bunch of Lone Stars, and couldn't find yours.
So you're saying your boat does NOT have a forward pointing bow? Can't tell, your pic is sort of cut off there.
I'd agree then, it is likely a very late 50's, or a very early 60's. I'd think the Fiberglass would be a dead giveaway, but couldn't find one just like yours. _________________ Chris

Take a very close look at some of the boats on this page...
http://www.fiberglassics.com/library/Arkansas_traveler
The shape of the transom (how it is not notched down for the motor, but rather has a shallow angle dropping down) is very similar (and unique) to this era of boat. Seems a LOT had a more horizontal flat shape to the outer section of transom, with a notch for the motor. But yours and the Ark. Traveler are angled.
If you look at the 1958 brochure, page 4, top right boat, the transom is very similar.
Also, you have a "V" of some sort on your fiberglass deck. I'm seeing that "V" in some of these boats.
So, still not sure, don't see the exact one as yours, but it's close. _________________ Chris

There are some aluminum boat catalogs over at
www.fiberglassics.com
- maybe you can find your boat there!

I have narrowed it down.
I am sure that it is an Arkansa Traveler, model DUT-14
Possibly '59, '60, or '61
I cant find any good pics of '59, However the glass models in '59 had the V.
I can rule out '62 becuase they made it 3 inches longer that year.
I hope it's a '59 and that the '58 'rude is original |

Maybe you made a typo - that 'rude looks like a '59 to me. I think '59 was the 1st year for the fiberglass cover and thermostat cooling system for the 35 HP.
Let me know the model number and I'll look it up.

I stand corrected! I guess the Lark was the new style in 1958 - My two 1958 Evinrude 35s are the "Big Twin" models that look similar to the metal-cased blue 1954-1957 'rudes that preceeded them.
-
Yours must be a model 35514 (short) or 35515 (long shaft), per the 1958 Lark model numbers in the Old Outboard Book. No photos in the book.
-
1959 Larks would be models 35516 (short) or 35517 (long) with similar looks.

Yep, same exact motor I have on my Viking.
Thermostat, Metal Hood.
Looks to be a pretty cool looking motor when it was new. Mine's a bit different, being a 3 tone I guess, pretty high luxury! Stainless trim, black, white, and metallic green. Not sure the color diff, yours looks to be gray instead of green. _________________ Chris
