Here are some updated pics.  On the trailer ready to go, and some shots made today on Lake Norman here in NC.  That's my dad in the pics.

?It's still not finished but I've grown impatient and I've gotta take it for a ride.  Should be ready in about two weeks.  Just got a good 1960 Tee Nee trailer for it . I've got the transom built.  I'll probably install the 58 35hp Johnson Super Sea Horse next weekend.  More to come...

I
had been searching for tailfinned boats in my area and found this one.  I stopped and looked at it about a week ago, the guy didn't know much about it, probably about the tenth owner.  The only identification I could find was the faint remnants of "Crestliner" on the steering wheel center, which was lying in the back of the boat.  No seats, no motor, no windshield, no lenses for the bow and stearn lights (the fin lenses are there), and no title.  The external part for the speedometer that attaches to the stearn was broken off.  Plus, someone had bolted a stand for a swivel fishing seat to the middle of the deck on the bow.  I had never heard of Crestliner, and wasn't sure if the steering wheel even went with the boat.  I went straight home and searched for Crestliner on the net and found your site.  I was pretty excited to see the photos of finished boats and the old catalog photos.  I knew I had to have the boat.  I bought it yesterday and brought it home.

The info on your site has already answered most of my questions.  Any advice on getting it and the trailer re-titled since the former owner probably doesn't even remember the name of the guy he bought it from.  Any help finding a windshield would be helpful, I don't even have the lower molding that the Plexiglas sits in.  Are there any diagrams available for the seat construction?  What have restored versions of these sold for?

The trailer is a Mastercraft Kit-Craft.  Is it possible this is the original trailer?

Thanks,
