HI,

I am very glad I found your site. I have a 1957 Crestliner 14í Viking Deluxe Runabout (identified by looking at your 1957 Crestliner catalog) As you can see it is not restored to original condition but I did the best I could with what I had to work with. My buddy found the boat (hull only) in very bad condition and started the project. When he found it most of the boatís hardware was missing and the paint had been stripped ñ presumably for a restoration that was never completed.  He had cut the wood for new seats, built a new dash, added instruments & steering wheel, and installed the ë73 Johnson 50HP motor. The aluminum framework for the front seat was completely missing so he built wooden pedestals contoured to fit the curve of the boats bottom. Later he ran short of time and sold it to me when I was looking for a boat.

I finished what he had started by installing the wooden seats, the dash, the steering cable, engine control & cables, lights, and replaced rivets where necessary. This season it got upholstered seats and carpet. It still needs to be painted but for now I just polished the aluminum. I still need to find a windshield & hardware. It would be nice to find a ëbimií top like those in the ë57 catalog...or at least the framework for one.

The boat runs great and handles well. It is very solid. It always draws comments from folks when they see it at the lake like....îwhat kind of boat is that?î,  îyou donít see many boats like that in Texasî,  ìis that stainless steel?î Makes me proud to own this beautiful Crestliner in the heart of Lone Star boat country!

Thanks for your retro Crestliner web site...keep up the good work!
