hello all! does this glove box look original? specifically, has the hinge been repaired or was this how the hinge was originally attached to the glove box cover. this is off my 1957 voyager. does the strike plate look original too? can any of you guys post any pics you may have of your crestliner glove boxes? thanks! scott

The hinge is legit, but I'm not sure about the striker/latch. My Viking has a rotating tab on the lock cylinder that goes up inside the glove box - no tab on the box itself.

Of course, that doesn't mean that mine didn't have a tab like yours, that broke off. Mine may not be correct.

If you look at the picture posted by Dgrin 56Vik, it appears that his has the tab sticking down also, maybe yours and his are original. I will tell ya though, you'll scrape your hand on that tab if it's sharp when sticking your hand in there.

I just rechecked my glove box and dash, my door is rectangle and home made. The tab hanging down is a clasp like on an old cupboard door.

Bummer. I guess I'll be looking for a glove box door.
I'll probably be using my poor dash for a templet.

The box on my 1957 Commander12 has a push-button latch and the inside looks like the photos in the 1st post on this thread.
