Can anyone help me with the year on this 14" boat? It's missing too many of the original identifying marks for me to pinpoint the year. Owner thinks it may be a 1960. I've asked for pictures forward of the transom to see how many vertical supports there are. This will help me pinpoint the model and give me a ballpark idea on HP rating.
I may go look at this boat for purchase if the price is right. Can this transom still be turned back to original with some work and effort since it's been modified? It looks to be a mess at the moment.

I've found that the links sometimes don't work if you "preview" your message before posting. Since I started skipping the preview, all of my photo links work.

As for the year, all I can tell is that it appears to be 1957 or newer.
About the only difference between some of the years on these was the Crestliner logo on the side wich is missing on yours.

Is that a Buccaneer 620 you have there 54fleetwin?
The catalog shows a back rest on the rear seat but not where your picture is showing. Aren't those brackets for the seats on the sides in the back corners? Mine has two ell brackets about 1.25" wide on either side that catch an aluminum finger, which sticks out on both sides of the seat back.
Just put up a picture of the bracket. http://www.deathwish-outboards.com/
The thing that makes me question my own seat back is the fact that it sticks up so high like it was meant to go with a bigger boat.
I've got to get to work on the folks at the Minnesota Historical society and see what they have. _________________ Picking up where I left off at sixteen.

The hull number will either be stamped into the inside of the transom or on upper edge of the right (starboard) side around the middle of the gunnel.
Compare it to the catalogs on the home page. _________________ Picking up where I left off at sixteen.
